This Wednesday’s LOCAL Wine Flight is a trio of Tempranillos, a 2007 from Bokisch Vineyards in Lodi, California and two Tempranillos from Spain. The 2008 Albet i Noya Tempranillo Classic is from one of Spain’s leading organic winemakers. The vineyard also started the ‘Experimental Varieties Project’ in 1998. “The aim of the project is to test seven ancient grape vaieties, both from a point of view of vineyard management and of winemaking potential. The grape varieties have been recovered from old and abandoned vineyards, including one found in Albet i Noya’s estate.”(pictured below)
